• May 14: Chatrapati Sambhaji Raje Bhosale is born to Shivaji Maharaj and Saibai in the fort of Purandar.
• 1666: Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje is sent as a political hostage to the Mughal court in Agra after Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje’s treaty with the Mughals.
• 1674: Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje participates in the grand coronation of his father, Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje, as the emperor of the Maratha kingdom.
• 1680: Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje passes away, and after a brief period of political tension, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje ascends the throne as the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire.
• 1681: Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje engages in a defensive campaign against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who launches a major invasion of the Deccan region.
• 1683: Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje successfully defends Goa against a Portuguese attack, showcasing his military prowess.
